Exterior Cleaning in Gurnee, IL

House washing, roof washing and concrete across Gurnee — Lake County is a primary market, so there is no travel fee.

LOCAL, NOT “SERVING THE AREA”

Gurnee is a primary market for us, not an outer edge.

Gurnee is one of our regular Lake County markets. There is no travel fee here — Lake County is a primary county for Code 3, the same as Kenosha County — so what you are quoted is the work, not the drive.

WHAT WE DO IN GURNEE

Every exterior service, one crew.

Most properties need more than one of these, and doing them on a single visit costs less than booking two trips.

GURNEE, IL

What Gurnee does to the outside of a house.

Gurnee is mostly newer housing than the lakefront towns, and that changes what we find. A lot of the village went up through the 1990s and 2000s, which means vinyl siding, architectural shingle roofs and attached garages in planned subdivisions. Newer vinyl is the easiest surface we work on — it cleans fast, it takes solution well, and a house wash here is usually a straightforward job rather than a careful one. That is reflected in the price.

The Des Plaines River runs through the middle of town, and the low ground around it holds humidity in a way the higher subdivisions do not. Properties backing onto the river corridor and the forest preserve land along it stay damper for longer after rain, and they show it — the north and east walls green up first and fastest. If your house backs onto trees and water, expect to wash more often than a neighbour two streets up on open ground.

Subdivision tree planting is now old enough to matter. The maples and ash that went in with those 1990s developments are full-size canopy today, and a roof that was in open sun when the house was built is now shaded half the day. That is when moss starts instead of streaking, and moss is the one worth catching early because it holds water against the shingle rather than just discolouring it.

Illinois salts its roads hard, and Grand Avenue and Washington Street carry enough traffic that anything fronting them picks up a brine line across the lower siding and fence through the winter. It is the same spring call we get in Kenosha, and it comes off the same way.

THE YEAR HERE

When to book what in Gurnee.

Exterior cleaning in southeast Wisconsin is seasonal whether you plan around it or not. This is roughly how the year runs.

March – May
Salt comes off. Road brine on the lower siding, the fence line and the driveway is what makes a property look tired coming out of winter, and this is our heaviest stretch for house washing.
May – June
Windows, after the spring pollen has finished. Doing glass too early in the season means doing it twice.
June – August
Roofs and decks. Dry spells give the solution the dwell time it needs, and a deck cleaned in June is a deck you use all summer.
September – November
Gutter faces, fences and a last house wash before winter. The canopy in the older subdivisions drops a lot of leaf litter in this window.
December – February
Weather dependent. We will take work when conditions allow but we do not promise a winter schedule — ask and we will tell you straight whether it is worth doing now or waiting for March.
COVERAGE

Where in Gurnee we work.

All of it. The newer subdivisions west and north of the village clean quickly and price accordingly. Properties along the Des Plaines corridor and backing onto forest preserve hold moisture and need washing more often. Anything fronting Grand Avenue, Washington Street or another plowed through-road gets the winter salt line. Commercial work around the retail corridor is scheduled around your hours rather than ours.

GURNEE QUESTIONS

Straight answers.

Is there a travel fee for Gurnee?

No. Lake County is one of our two primary counties — no travel charge anywhere in it. The small travel fee only applies outside Kenosha and Lake counties.

My house backs onto the forest preserve and it is always green on one side. Why?

Trees and low ground keep the air around the house damp, and the shaded walls never fully dry out. Algae grows wherever the surface stays wet, so it takes the north and east sides first. It comes off, and it comes back slower once the growth is killed at the root instead of just rinsed away.

My subdivision is only twenty years old. Does it still need washing?

Yes, and it is usually an easy job. Newer vinyl is the most forgiving surface we work on, which is exactly why a wash on a 1990s or 2000s house tends to cost less than one on older painted stock.

There is moss on my roof, not just streaks. Is that worse?

It is the version worth dealing with sooner. Streaking is cosmetic for a long time; moss holds water directly against the shingle and lifts the edges as it grows. Both come off with a low-pressure roof-safe clean.

Do you clean the salt line off siding in spring?

Yes, and it is the most common call we get in April. Road brine on the lower siding and fence is the first thing anyone notices coming out of an Illinois winter.

Do you work on commercial property in Gurnee?

Yes — storefronts, entries, sidewalks, dumpster pads and recurring maintenance. Scheduled around your opening hours.
