WHAT WE DO IN KENOSHA

Every exterior service, one crew.

Most properties need more than one of these, and doing them on a single visit costs less than booking two trips.

KENOSHA, WI

What Kenosha does to the outside of a house.

Kenosha sits directly on Lake Michigan, and that is the single biggest factor in how fast exterior surfaces here go green. Lake air holds moisture well into the fall, and the closer a property is to the water the longer its shaded walls stay damp after rain. On the east side of town it is common to find a house where the south wall still looks nearly new and the north wall has gone visibly green — same house, same paint, same age. That is not dirt. It is algae growing where the surface never fully dries.

The older neighborhoods change the job. A lot of the housing near the lake and around the downtown core has real age on it, and that housing stock brings wood trim, painted surfaces, original soffits and sometimes siding that has been through several repaints. None of that takes pressure the way newer vinyl does. On a house like that the cleaning has to be done by the solution with the pressure turned down, and anyone who shows up and opens a wand on hundred-year-old trim is going to leave marks that do not wash off.

Then there is the salt. Kenosha streets get salted hard from November through March, and everything fronting a plowed road takes a brine spray onto the bottom few feet of siding, the fence line and the lower trim. It sits there through every freeze-thaw cycle until something takes it off. That is why our phone starts ringing in April — people come out of winter and see a line across the front of the house that was not there in October.

Tree cover is the last one. The established streets west of the lake have mature maples and oaks, and a roof under that canopy stays shaded, holds moisture, and grows moss rather than just streaking. Moss is the version worth dealing with sooner, because it holds water directly against the shingle and lifts the edges as it grows.

THE YEAR HERE

When to book what in Kenosha.

Exterior cleaning in southeast Wisconsin is seasonal whether you plan around it or not. This is roughly how the year runs.

March – May
Salt comes off. This is the heaviest season for house washing here, because the brine line across the bottom of the siding and the fence is the first thing anyone notices coming out of a Kenosha winter. Concrete is the same story — the driveway has been collecting road brine since November.
May – June
Windows, once the tree and grass pollen that coats everything in May has finished. Cleaning glass too early in spring means cleaning it twice.
June – August
Roofs and decks. Longer dry spells mean solution gets the dwell time it needs, and a deck cleaned early in the summer is a deck you actually use all summer.
September – November
Gutter faces, fence lines and a last house wash before the weather closes in. A property washed in the fall goes into winter clean and comes out of it far better than one that did not.
December – February
Weather dependent. We take work in winter when conditions allow — entryways and sidewalks get salted hardest in these months and that is when a storefront looks worst to the customers walking into it — but we do not promise a winter schedule. Ask and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth doing now or in March.
COVERAGE

Where in Kenosha we work.

All of it — but the jobs look different depending where you are. Properties near the lakefront and through the older neighborhoods around downtown bring the pre-war housing stock and the heaviest algae pressure. West of the city, the newer subdivisions out toward the interstate are mostly vinyl and newer roofs, which clean faster and cost less. The streets under mature tree canopy are where the moss shows up and where gutters fill fastest in the fall. Anywhere on a plowed road gets the salt line.

KENOSHA QUESTIONS

Straight answers.

How quickly can you get to a property in Kenosha?

We are in Pleasant Prairie, roughly ten minutes out, so Kenosha is effectively our home market. Estimates usually go out the same day and we can normally look at the property that week.

Is there a travel fee for Kenosha?

No. Kenosha County is a primary county — no travel charge anywhere in it. The small travel fee only applies outside Kenosha and Lake counties.

My house is close to the lake and one side is always green. Why?

Lake Michigan keeps the air humid here well into the fall, and the shaded side of a house dries slowest. Algae grows where the surface stays wet, so it colonises the north and east walls first. It comes off, and it comes back slower once the growth is killed at the root rather than just rinsed.

I have an older home downtown. Is pressure washing safe on it?

Not high pressure, and that is exactly why the method matters more on older housing stock. Painted wood, original trim and older soffits need a soft-wash approach — solution, dwell time, low-pressure rinse. We look at the material before any water moves.

Do you clean the salt line off siding in spring?

Yes, and it is the most common call we get in April and May. Road brine on the lower siding and fence is what makes a property look tired coming out of a Kenosha winter.

Do you work on commercial property in Kenosha?

Yes — storefronts, entryways, sidewalks, dumpster pads and recurring maintenance schedules. Commercial work is scheduled around your opening hours rather than ours.
